Just delicious! This is so refreshing. I doubled the recipe and put it into the blender in batches. I added 2 packets artifical sweetner. It was so easy and quick, perfect on a hot day! Beats the heck out of those heavy drinks you buy! Thanks for sharing!

This was great. I had a bunch of melons in my garden, so I made your recipe first. Awesome. Then I did a new batch- this time with half yellow watermellon, and half cantaloupe. I also added 2 tbsp. of honey and used ginger ale. Incredible!

A couple of weeks ago I started to make this and didn't get to it. The watermelon sat in the freezer and I told everyone not to touch the can of Diet Sprite (something we don't have around much.)! I had forgotten about it until my daughter said "You better use that Sprite because it's getting too tempting!" Moral of the story: Watermelon is fine the freezer for a couple of weeks and I wish I had done this sooner because it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it! Thanks so much!!

Oh my, this was so good. I made this today when my friend stopped by. I had this watermelon 1/2 sitting in the fridge and I need the room for my party this weekend and I saw your recipe and that was that!! Very good, I used vanilla soda because thats all I had. Now I have a new refreshing recipe and all that needed room in my fridge!!!

This is divine. It has the freshest taste, like pure fruit. What a great way to keep from wasting watermelon...freeze it, and use it later! I've made this several times; it's a keeper. (Last night DH put gin in his!)

We made these tonight. The only way I can describe them is to say they are odd, not bad, not fantastic, just odd. We all drank what was in our glass, but no one wanted more. Not sure if I will make them again.

Hmmm... it was.... interesting and a bit odd. That's the only way I can really describe it. I drank the whole glass but still couldn't figure out if I actually liked it or not. I wonder if I'd like it better with gingerale instead of the diet sierra mist. Oh, and there's no way my blender would puree frozen watermelon without a good amount of liquid so I added the soda early on to loosten the mixture enough to blend it. Maybe the watermelon should have been only partially frozen to begin with. I might have to tinker with this one a bit but I like the idea of it.

Nice refreshing taste. I used Mtn Dew and some yellow watermelon that has been in my freezer since last year! I was going to make this with a nice fresh seedless watermelon, but my sister dropped it on our kitchen tile! It took forever to mop up! Will make this again, using red. Used a touch of honey for added sweetness. Thnx for posting, jan007. Made for Comfort Cafe Summer 2009.

It's really refreashing like everyone is saying! The flavor is good too. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because it isn't my favorite.

My family absolutely loved this. It was so quick and easy to prepare. 95° in Upstate New York is hot, and the AC just wasn't cutting it, so when the family came over, some light and refreshing tomato basil bruschetta from the garden and this lovely drink really did the trick. We used Diet Mountain Dew which added a nice citrus base and some black pepper for kick. This was a great way to use a watermelon that was slightly overripe and mushy. Awesome!

Very refreshing and a great way to use watermelon from the freezer since my hubby and I can't eat a whole melon before it goes bad. I used lemon juice instead of lime since that's what I had on hand and lime-flavored sparkling water instead of diet soda since I don't do artificial sweeteners. We will definitely make this again!

Didn't care for the watermelon pureed. It must just be my personal preference, since I don't like cantaope in a smoothie either. Roxygirl

This was a wonderfully refreshing drink! I made mine with 1 cup ice, which I believe watered the flavor down a bit. I would suggest not using ice. Also, make sure the melon you use is nice and sweet. I love watermelon and this recipe gives me a great new way to serve it! Thanks, Jan!

I found that I did not need to add the ice cubes. I gave this to my family and was told this was the best new drink they have had in ages. It was easy to make too. Without the ice this served two, but with the ice it would serve more. Thanks for such a refreshing drink.

I had half a watermelon cut up in my refrigerator that suddenly no one was eating. I didn't want to throw it out and then I found this recipe! It is delicious. Very light and refreshing. A great summertime drink. I made it exactly as shown except added a few cubes of mango. I got about 24 ounces, more like enough for two nice sized glasses. I am so glad you shared this recipe. Thanks for posting.

This was tasty in the end but I had a ton of problems with it. There was so little liquid at first that I could not get the blender to blend it. I ended up omitting the ice and adding the soda at the beginning so there would be enough liquid for the drink to actually blend. I also thought it was way too little for 4 servings. That said, I thought it was tasty.

Love this stuff! I don't normally keep soda on hand, though so I usually just omit it and add equal to taste. Very yummy and refreshing.
