directions

  • Combine the water and sugar in a small sauce pan, and reduce over medium high heat until you have 1 1/4 cups of simple syrup. Meanwhile, puree cherries in a blender until smooth, and then strain through a sieve to get out all the pulp.
  • Combine simple syrup and cherry juice in a bowl, and chill until cold.
  • Freeze the mixture in your ice cream maker according to manufactures directions. Serve immediately, or scoop into a plastic container with a lid, then place in the freezer to harden up.
  • Enjoy!

  1. Must admit that I didn't have sour cherries but instead used frozen sweet dark cherries & reduced the amount of sugar use by about half! Other than that, I followed the recipe & froze the finished sorbet in the freezer! Wonderfully delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe! [Tagged & made in Please Review My Recipe]
