Simple Classic Ketchup

"This is a simple ketchup recipe that keeps you away from the high fructose corn syrup. This makes a quart jar full, it can be easily split in half for smaller quantities. We use a LOT of ketchup, and I have this one memorized. We use agave nectar these days, but I wrote this one with sugar to make it simple. To make with agave, replace sugar with 2/3 cup agave nectar. I get the salt from http://www.saltworks.us/shop/product.asp?idProduct=373 . It is better for you as regular white salt as been demineralized."

directions

  • Mix together in a bowl, I prefer to use a whisk. If you are using a spoon, stir after each addition for the first four ingredients.
  • Pour into a quart jar (a canner funnel helps for this) and put in the fridge!
