This lemonade was sooo darn good. This recipe definitely deserves more than 5 stars! Using fresh lemon juice, makes this taste so refreshing. I like the taste the fresh lemons give to the lemonade, rather than using a can of frozen lemonade concentrate. I did however cut back on the water, and I'm glad I did. I only added 3 cups, as I thought the 6 cups would of really diluted the taste of the lemonade. I did add a bit more sugar, (1-1/8 cups all together) but the lemonade was still tart, so for those who prefer there's a bit more sweet, I'd suggest adding abit more sugar. I also strained the watermelon twice, which I think this is an important step in the recipe. I also found that after blending 4 cups of cubed watermelon, you will end up with 2 cups of fresh watermelon juice, plus, I found you will need 8 medium to large size lemons, to get 1 and a 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice. And one more thing, after cutting up the watermelon, and juicing the lemons, the prep time is more like 30 minutes, and I ended up with 56 ounces of "the best" tasting lemonade ever! Thank you Nif for posting this recipe, it's a keeper!

I made this yesterday as I had some leftover watermelon and got some beautiful lemons from my mother in law. This was delicious. Little Miss 6 was most impressed. Hubby & I added a sneaky slurp of Vanilla Vodka to ours to make a cool & refreshing wind down cocktail on a warm night. Thanks for posting!

This is 6 stars and defiantly deserves the word refreshing as part of it's title. We all loved or liked this and personally I am not one who likes watermelon much. I used part of a good sweet seedless watermelon, granulated raw cane sugar (3/4 cup not the full cup) and mostly fresh lemons with a bit of store bought real lemon juice. I will definitely make this through the summer months. Photo posted. Made for ZWT5 for Cooks With Dirty Faces.
