This tea is a remedy for headaches associated with stress on the liver. Based on the recipe from Esther Blum's book, Eat, Drink, and Be Gorgeous, a nutritionist's guide to living well while living it up. She says this is "lemon sour power"!

  1. Juice half the lemon, reserving juice in a cup.
  2. Slice the rind from the juiced half in quarters and simmer in the boiling water, covered, for 10 minutes.
  3. Strain the water into the cup with the juice.
  4. If you find the juice too tart, stir in the honey.
  5. Drink hot.

This is what I prefer now in the mornings instead of coffee or regular tea. So good for you and I just love the flavor too. Thanks! Made for Vegetarian Swap-May 2009.

Don't pass this by because it's simple. Sometimes the simplest things are the best. This is one of them. It is definitely very lemony (but then, I use a whole lemon cos I love it) and the honey just takes the edge off. It is a really great metabolism shifter, and gets things moving if you know what I mean : )) I also love this when I am feeling a little unwell and have used it for years. Thanks Mersaydees, just love it.

Nice lemony drink!!! I very much think this would be my favorite drink if I always had organic lemons on hand. I did use half a non-organic lemon but I want to make this again and I know it would taste better and be 100% better for me with an organic one. I tasted it without honey added and loved it but I added a little for it's heath benefit mainly and it was nice too. Made for Special Event ~ Adopt a Veggie Tag!
