  1. I really enjoyed this refreshing citrus herbal lemonade Paula. It was simply delicious, raw, fresh, sparkling with flavor. I used sugar and fresh thai basil, what a treat. Thank you so much for sharing this treasure, I will be making this often, into my keeper box this goes. :)

  2. I don't have a juicer, and I just wanted to try a quick little bit, so I put a couple of leaves of fresh basil and a slice of lemon into my blender and spun it for a minute, till I couldn't see any more of the basil bits. Then I put in through a strainer. I use honey for a sweetener instead of processed sugar or artificial sweeteners. It really hit the spot! I like the blend of lemon and lime.. and who woulda thunk that the basil would be sooo good in this? I have a new use for my basil! Thanks! [editted to add] I've just made this again using dried basil, & the dried basil did not work so well. It didn't blend well & stayed dried, floating at the top. So I would suggest using fresh. I also added a bit of ginger which tasted good in it.

  4. Thank you soooooo much for this recipe! I used a little more ice and purple basil, with 8 splenda packets. INCREDIBLE! Plus, if you don't use real sugar there is only about 30 calories in the whole recipe (the lime and lemon). Perfect and refreshing. Thanks again, Paula!!

I came to this site in March of 2004. It was then called Recipezaar. This site was the first on-line site that I ever joined. I first popped in 2003 while searching for a Peach Cobbler Recipe. In March of 2004, DH was having shoulder surgery and I was looking for a Split Pea Soup. Once again I found myself on Zaar as it came to be called. Over the years I hung out and learned from some of the best home cooks in the country, I posted over 700 recipes on the site, reviewed over 3500 recipes and posted over 3000 food photos. Over the next 10 years the site made many changes and in 2010 it was sold to to Food Network and became Food.com. Until last year we played games, talked and shared with one another. As a result of the community and the relationships I built I got to meet some wonderful people from all over the country. I also have a great number of friends that I have never meet face to face. Some of us still hang out at various places across the net. Zaar was more than a cooking community. It was an internet community of friendship. Life is an adventure ever changing.
