Not a hard thing to do but makes for the best sweet tea. Will keep for several days in the fridge. Give it a try!
Directions:
1
Bring water and sugar slowly to a boil in a non-reactive pot.
2
When the sugar is disolved add the sliced lemons (or 12 T lemon juice) and mint.
3
Remove from heat, cool 10 minutes and strain.
4
You can try freezing in a tray, but they won't get real hard.
Ratings & Reviews:
A great way to make sweetened iced tea! For people who like different levels of sweetness, this is so much better than stirring in sugar which never fully dissolves. I made 1/4 recipe. Lemon is a nice addition, using the slices in the syrup and straining makes for no seeds. Thanks, ricky, for a great idea!

I don't put sugar in my tea but I made it for the members of my family who do. This made a flavorful sweetener for those who use sugar in their tea. It made it nice to only have to make one pitcher of tea and then everyone could have their tea the way they like it. My family liked the minty sweet taste it added to the tea.
Very quick and easy.
Thanks rickv.

Excellent. I use the Splenda Blend (half sugar and half fake sugar) to cut down on calories and it is great. Thanks.
