I'm actually going to "The Little House on the Prairie cookbook with this one. I was threshing hay the other day (ok, actually I was mowing the lawn, but close enough), and thought I'd try it - the ginger and the vinegar give it a nice tang. If the vinegar is a bit much, you can add less vinegar or mix it with ginger ale.
- Dissolve the sugar and ginger in the vinegar.
- Shake with cold water.
- Serve chilled by itself or mixed 1:1 with ginger ale.
Interesting however not something I'd make again.
Wow! I love this!!! It tastes like real gingerale to me. I used apple cider vinegar with the mother in it to be healthy. Just one thing, the real apple cider vinegar erodes tooth enamel but has wonderful health benefits otherwise. I will make this again.
I make ours a little differently and use kombucha instead of vinegar. This is what my husband almost always drinks, especially in the hot months when he's working outside for hours on end. It doesn't sieze your stomach up when you're really hot like other cold drinks can do.
