    Annisette's Note:

It is so easy to transform plain old sugar cubes into something beautiful. These look so pretty on the table for a tea or other special occasion. Even the kids can help! Time is approximate - depends on how elaborate you want to make these.

What a cute recipe! I've never tried making icing flowers before so my results are a bit short of professional but as I practiced my flowers improved. I had to add a bit more hot water to the confectioner's sugar to get it to a consistency where it could be squeezed through the decorating bag (must be because the air is very dry in the house). The first time I added 1 more tsp which was way too much. The second time I added half a tsp which was much better but I think it was still a bit too much as my flowers had less definition than I would have liked. This would certainly be lovely to serve at a shower or elegant party. Made for February: Afternoon Tea and Light Suppers: The BIG Tea-Party

Super fun, and easy way to "dress-up" your sugar cubes for the holidays, special parties ( think baby showers or bridal showers, etc) or just make a nice tea-time. I enjoyed making these and plan to make them again for my DD's sweet 16 - she wants high tea with scones at the beach with friends and these will be a "sweet" accompaniment. **Made for August 2008 Aussie Tag**
