Deep Fried Turkey Flavor Injector Marinade

• Total Time: 7 mins
• Prep Time: 5 mins
• Cook Time: 2 mins

Ingredients:

Serves: 10-12

Yield: 1.0 turkey

• ½ cup orange juice
• ¼ cup water
• 1 ½ tablespoons salt
• ½ tablespoon black pepper (may also use white pepper)
• 1 tablespoon onion powder
• 5 -6 garlic cloves , minced
• ½ tablespoon paprika
• 1 teaspoon chili powder
• ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions:

1. Mix all ingredients in food processor or blender.
2. Mix until thoroughly blended (about 2-4 minutes).
3. Transfer into flavor injector and inject turkey in several places.
4. Deep fry turkey as usual (about 3 minutes per pound).

Good job, Dominick! This was a big hit. Thank you, thank you for the directions of running it through the blender for 2-4 minutes. The last time (a good 20 years ago) that I tried to use a marinade injector, the needle hole plugged up repeatedly with the spices, and I tossed out the injector and said "never again." The seasoning blend was PERFECT, and had the perfect amount of "kick."

I always have to go and buy that cajun injector marinade for 8-12 dollars a jar.. Now I dont have to Thanks a TON. I made enough of this to make 12 quart jars. heated it and jarred it.. You saved me tons.. THANKS SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
