Blend all ingredients well. If you have a very powerful blender, such as the Vitamix, you can simply blend for one minute. If you have a standard blender, blend for one minute, stop, push any stray spinach down into the smoothie mixture, then blend for another 2 minutes, or until smooth.
Good, healthy way to start the day. Like another reviewer, my blender didn't do a great job with the dates. Cocoa has so many health advantages, and this was an interesting spin on my morning smoothie. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Better than I expected...I was worried that it would taste "too healthy" but it was pretty good. I used a frozen banana, 2 medjool dates, 1 big handful of fresh spinach leaves, and used soy protein. It wasn't quite chocolatey enough for me and the color was an off putting green, so I added an additional tablespoon of cocoa powder. It made enough for 2 servings so next time I will cut the recipe in half. Even though I used a frozen banana, I still added ice to make it frostier. I will make again.
