Berry Smooth Shake Smoothie

This is my favourite smoothie recipe! My kids love it, which is even better. Oddly, I originally found it on a website providing camping tips for the Freeman River campground in Alberta. I haven't yet figured out how to get my blender to work in my tent, but the recipe is a big hit in my kitchen at home. I've also done this with strawberries, which were tasty. The fruit doesn't necessarily have to be frozen.

Ingredients:

Serves: 4

Yield: 3.5 cups

• 1 cup frozen raspberries or 1 cup frozen blueberries
• 1 cup milk , cold
• 1 cup plain yogurt
• 2 tablespoons honey
• 1 banana
• ¼ teaspoon vanilla
• 4 -5 ice cubes

Directions:

1. Put berries and milk in the blender. Blend on medium for about 1 minute to get the berries really blended into the milk.
2. Add yoghurt, honey, banana and vanilla. Blend at medium until well mixed, roughly 30 seconds.
3. Add in ice cubes. Pulse a few times or start on low, then go to medium to get the ice cubes chopped up and well distributed through the smoothie.
