Noo 's Note:
These onions are great with burgers (try it with my Chicago Beer Burgers ).They can be cooked ahead, cooled and kept in the fridge. When you need them, simmer them gently. When they are hot, add a splash of beer to perk up the flavour.
Directions:
1
Melt the butter in a pan. Add the onions and cook until tender.
2
Add 6 fl oz beer, sugar and salt. Cook approx 16/18 minutes until the beer is absorbed and the onions are starting to brown.
3
Add the remaining beer and simmer gently.
4
Serve warm to accompany burgers.
Ratings & Reviews:
This was so easy and so good! It made just enough for two servings. We loved the sweetness of the onions. They were tender and packed full of yummy flavors. Served them on top of Marinated Flank Steak for a delicious sandwich. Thanks for posting. :)

These were awesome on our grilled bratwursts. Great flavor and very easy to prepare. I used St. Pauli Girl dark beer. Made for PRMR.

Wonderful flavour! We had these onions with burgers- they tasted great on top of the burgers and as a side dish. We'll definitely return to this recipe!
