Heat oven to 425°F Cut turnips into 2 x 1/2-inch sticks. Place on a foil-lined jelly-roll pan. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with salt and chili powder. Toss with your hands to coat. Spread out in a single layer. Roast fries 30 minutes, turning halfway through cooking time for even browning. Serve immediately.
These were pretty good for turnips. I was able to get my neighbor's four year old to eat a few. We used ketchup as a dipping sauce but sour cream, cayenne and honey-dijon would have been better.

I had never cooked turnips before. They were actually kinda sweet. these are not french fries but they go well with low carb burgers on cabbage leaf buns. Thanks for the recipie!!!!
