Great applesauce! Went well with Herbed Pork Roast (#85382). Pretty quick and easy to make. I even used some apples that were in my fridge for an embarassing amount of time, so this is a good use of apples that may be a bit past their prime!

I've made this applesauce several times and it is easy and delicious! I halved the recipe for 2. Use brown sugar insead of white, Granny Smith Apples and add extra Penzy's Vietnamese cinnamon. I like it chunky, so I don't over cook or over stir it. Add a couple red hot candies for a Christmas look. It's great served with pork :)))

So simple, yet tastey! I cut way back on the sugar, and just sprinkled to taste, but this truely was a perfect recipe on what to do with too many overly ripe apples! thanks

Delicious and super easy! I like to make it in the morning to have with breakfast! I find that adding a touch of salt enhances the flavor.

Awesome recipe for sure! I used a mixture of Lobo and Spartan apples for a variety in both flavor and texture. I also used apple pie spice from epicure to season it. My children and husband both LOVED it as do I. Thanks for sharing!

Was good, and easy! Next time I will use maybe 1/4 of the sugar suggested though, if any.

What a wonderfully tasty, easy recipe! This was my first time making applesauce and I was surprised at how little effort it took (after the apples were peeled, cored, and sliced, of course!) I ended up changing it a bit though. I quadrupled the apples and water, but I only doubled the sugar and cinnamon. I like my applesauce a little less sweet and more natural. Otherwise, a great recipe!!

Great applesauce. I did not add the sugar (diet restrictions) and it was still great!

I decided to make this as a side dish for our Easter dinner and it was delicious...the whole family loved it. I used Granny Smith and Red Gala apples and decided to use light golden brown sugar instead of white sugar. It tasted like apple pie filling and was simply scrumptious!

I doubled the recipe, using eight Granny Smith apples that were getting a little old. I put the cinnamon in at the beginning because I wanted the flavor to be cooked right in. Before I put any sugar in, I tasted it, and if I had used a sweeter apple, it wouldn't have needed any sugar at all! I put in half the sugar the recipe called for, and it was still VERY sweet. I don't know; maybe I'm just used to the no sugar added stuff from the store, but I don't think any sugar is really needed for this recipe. Also, it needed a little more water than is called for, as my apples were beginning to stick about three quarters of the way through.

So simple and so delicious!! The best part is you control how much sugar you add... I used 2 large Gala and 2 Granny Smiths with the recipe and it's perfect!! Mahalo for sharing Rachel!

Tried this the other night after visiting an apple orchard. Made some homemade biscuits and slathered them up before eating! YUM! It was easy...delicious! Went back the next day for leftovers and they were gone! Have to make more the next time. Thanks for posting.

So good! Brought back memories of when my mom made applesauce when I was a kid. Loved making this with my kids. Turned out awesome, put it in the food processor on pulse to make it chunky applesauce.

Great applesauce. I made this to go with schnitzel and spaetzle and the left overs on pancakes the next morning.

I never knew that applesauce was supposed to be so GOOD! I loved this so much, almost too much. I needed applesauce for a recipe and discovered that despite my planning, I was out. So I searched here and found your fathers recipe. I will never ever look at jarred applesauce in the same light. Amazing, thank you for posting. <3
